Welcome back to the 2025-2026 school year with KSLA Northeast PA. We are continuing to partner with the Lackawanna Library System and other community partners to provide quality literacy based events for children and families.  While our commitment to the educators and literacy professionals in the community remains steadfast; we have been focusing our Chapter efforts on supporting literacy opportunities for the youth directly. We are proud to be part of Art in the Park, Storytime at the Viewmont Mall, Making Books Come to Life Series, and Badges and Books. All of these events have multiple dates, times, and locations to reach as many children as possible. We hope you can join us either as a volunteer or participant! On September 28, 2023, KSLA Northeast PA was excited to host NEPA (Taylor) native David Biedrzycki. David is both an author and illustrator of multiple children's books. He gave an incredible presentation to KSLA Northeast PA members and local families at Marywood University. David even produced a personalized e-illustration especially for KSLA Northeast PA!

KSLA Northeast PA is excited to kickstart the 2022-2023 with a growing number of events planned - both in person and virtual.  There is something for everyone! Don't forget to log into your PDE Account and check your Act 48 hours. As a KSLA Member, you have access to FREE Act 48 hours for participation in our Professional Development Sessions. For Librarians, you can also receive FREE CE Credits through the State Library of Pennsylvania.

The year 2020 has proved to throw many curve balls, but here we are starting a new school year. No matter how your year looks, KSLA Northeast PA hopes to be here as a support for you. Starting with a VIRTUAL Membership Drive in September and then offering full VIRTUAL Professional Development Sessions, we are understanding that our members are looking for practical solutions for their Act 48 requirements.
